The PureWave UPS System protects power sensitive equipment from the detrimental effects of power disturbances such as voltage sags, surges, transients, momentary disruptions, and complete outages. The system is designed to support full loads for a maximum of 60 seconds, or for up to 180 seconds for reduced loads. S&C’s unique Static Switch design provides immediate response to power disturbances while delivering high efficiency.

The UPS can be seamlessly coordinated with a generator set for extended outages. Ride-through time can be tailored to permit start-up, then “soft” load transfer to a backup generator, for 100% protection through extended outages. No costly utility paralleling switchgear needed. And the generator can be sized up to 35% smaller than with conventional UPS systems.

Outdoor

• Simple installation — No need to build a building addition to house the equipment. PureWave UPS Systems are self-contained in a NEMA 3R (IP 14) enclosure and have an exceptionally small “footprint.”
• Scalable — PureWave is available in low-voltage models up to 2,500 kVA, and medium-voltage models up to 20,000 kVA, providing power protection for entire facilities. Additional capacity can be added in 313 kVA modules
• Reduces interior air conditioning load, resulting in increased savings.

Low- or Medium-Voltage

Purewave UPS Systems are available in the following models:

• Low-Voltage UPS. The low-voltage Purewave UPS System is modular in nature and is scalable from 313 kVA up to 2500 kVA for 208-600 volt applications.
• Medium-Voltage UPS. The medium-voltage PureWave UPS System can deliver a maximum of 2.5 MVA (per container) of clean power and can switch critical loads from the utility service to the system’s standby battery energy source in 2-4 milliseconds. As many as eight 2.5 MVA containers can be paralleled to protect larger loads up to 20 MVA.

All PureWave UPS Systems feature the following:

• Truly maintenance-free batteries — with a non-prorated 5-year warranty. Batteries can be 100% recycled.
• Quiet operation — audible noise is less than 55 dB(A), compared to 72 dB(A) for conventional systems.
• 60 seconds protection at 100% load — solves 99% of all power quality problems. PureWave UPS can provide up to 180 seconds protection at reduced loads.
